NASPA Welcomes New Staff

NASPA is excited to welcome our newest staff member: Laurie Harms.  In her new role, Laurie will coordinating the Pharmacists Mutual Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award (now being administered by NASPA!).

Laurie Harms is an Iowa native and a graduate of Briar Cliff University with a B.A. degree in Human Resource Management and a minor in Business. Laurie has a varied career experience in education and business and, as a fun fact, graduated college as a non-traditional student in the same year as her son. Laurie was employed at Pharmacists Mutual Insurance Company for 15 years in the marketing department where she managed the convention program and earned her Certified Trade Show Marketer designation. Laurie’s achievements and passion for this role were recognized as she was duly named the 2021 Employee of the Year.  She truly has enjoyed working with the state pharmacy associations and treasures the many friendships that she has developed.  So, of course, Laurie is excited to join the NASPA team and continue to serve as the contact person for the Distinguished Young Pharmacist program under NASPA’s management.

In addition to her new role with NASPA, Laurie looks forward to spending more time with her two children, their spouses and four grandchildren, and enjoying her hobbies of quilting and line dancing.  Laurie has also been involved in her community as a member of the Rotary International Board of Directors, the Kossuth County Community Foundation, and Chamber of Commerce Ambassador activities.

Welcome Laurie!
