NASPA Welcomes New President Aliyah Horton

NASPA is excited to announce its 2024 President, Aliyah Horton. Aliyah was sworn in to the President position on March 23, 2024 at the NASPA 2024 Spring Meeting in Orlando.

Aliyah N. Horton, CAE, FASAE has served as the Executive Director of the Maryland Pharmacists Association (MPhA) since 2015. She currently serves on the Board of the National Alliance of State Pharmacy Associations and will serve as its 2024-2025 President. She has spent nearly 30 years in the association management and public policy areas in state, national and international organizations. Prior to joining MPhA, Horton served as the Associate Executive Director for Strategic Initiatives and Government Affairs for the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE). Earlier in her career she served as a public policy specialist and lobbyist for InterAction in Washington, DC and as a legislative assistant for the late Congressman Elijah E. Cummings.

Horton is recognized as a Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and is a graduate of its Diversity Executive Leadership Program. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Smith College in Northampton, MA.
