Pharmacy Organizations Urge Congress to Prioritize PBM Reforms

NASPA, along with the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS), the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), FMI – The Food Industry Association, the National Grocers Association (NGA), the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), and the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP), issued a joint statement to Congress this week urging them to prioritize PBM reform as their approach a potential government shutdown.

“Failure to include these reforms, which Congress has advanced on a broad and bipartisan basis, would be a major victory for the pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) that employ harmful tactics that inflate prescription drug costs, force pharmacy closures, and block access to Americans’ pharmacy of choice.”
