NASPA is excited to welcome Savannah Cunningham as a Summer Intern starting this week! Savannah is a second-year student pharmacist at Mercer University College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, GA. She is originally from Murfreesboro, TN and graduated with a biology degree from Lipscomb University in 2018.
Savannah currently serves as the President of Mercer’s APhA-ASP chapter, Secretary of Mercer’s NCPA chapter, a member of the Mercer Admissions Pharmacy Ambassador Leadership Team, and is a member of Rho Chi and Phi Lambda Sigma. She also works part-time as a pharmacy intern at both Walgreens Pharmacy and Innovation Compounding Pharmacy and loves her role in both organizations.
Savannah is an avid advocate and have traveled to DC for meetings with legislators about important topics in pharmacy three times since the start of pharmacy school, as well as to the Georgia Capitol numerous times as well. In part due to this interest in advocacy, she chose to start a Student Leadership Board through the Georgia Pharmacy Association, which now serves to help connect students from all four colleges of pharmacy in Georgia to involvement opportunities within the association. This Board contributes to planning the Georgia Pharmacy Summer Convention, Day at the Dome, and various events throughout the year geared towards both students and practicing pharmacists.
Savannah stated “I am thrilled to be serving as an intern for NASPA this Summer. I will have the chance to contribute to projects that will advance the profession of pharmacy and learn more about association management, which is a major career goal for me. I look forward to meeting and interacting with all the members and staff and am thankful for the opportunity!”
