Pharmacy Organizations Support National Standards for Technician Education
Several national pharmacy organization members of the Joint Commission of Pharmacy Practitioners (JCPP), including NASPA, have agreed to support “the adoption of national standards to ensure that pharmacy technician education consistently achieves quality outcomes.” The statement also reads, “In applying developed standards, accrediting bodies should allow for innovation and flexibility in program delivery.”
Twelve other organizations, whose boards have voted to support the adoption of national standards, worked on the statement, and include the American Pharmacists Association, Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education, and National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.
