Flu Activity is on the Rise in Nine States

The CDC has reported that influenza activity is on the rise in nine states in their latest Weekly U.S. Influenza Surveillance Report.  Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Carolina, as well as New York City, have all experienced high influenza-like illness activity.  A total of 11 influenza-associated pediatric deaths have also been reported already for the 2018-2019 flu season.

It’s not too late to get your flu shot: The CDC current recommendations advise annual influenza vaccination for everyone older than 6 months, who does not have a medical condition that would prohibit them from vaccination.
