Rhode Island “Right-to-Try” Bill Advances

The Rhode Island House of Representatives passed a bill earlier this week that would allow experimental drugs for terminally ill patients in the state, even if the treatment has not yet been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.  According to U.S. News, this ‘right-to-try’ bill would “allow patients to request an experimental drug from its manufacturer, which can choose whether to provide it.”

If this bill passes the Senate, Rhode Island would join dozens of other states with similar laws.
