PSW Awarded Investment to Improve Immunization Access in Wisconsin

The Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW), along with the Medical College of Wisconsin, was recently awarded an investment from the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin (AHW) Endowment to expand access to immunizations in Wisconsin.  During the 30-month project, PSW’s Wisconsin Pharmacy Foundation and the MCW’s Schools of Medicine and Pharmacy will work to increase the number of vaccines administered in the state through policy and systems changes, developing protocols and training, and engaging pharmacists as immunizers.

“Wisconsin’s pharmacists applaud the focus of the AHW Endowment on immunization rates and look forward to implementing meaningful solutions to improve access,” said PSW Vice President of Professional and Educational Affairs Sarah Sorum, PharmD in their press release. “Wisconsin pharmacists are well positioned to make a meaningful impact on public and population health initiatives.”
