Georgia Adds New Care Management Organization that Pays for MTM

The Georgia Department of Community Health has added CareSource as one of the four Care Management Organizations available to Medicaid, PeachCare for Kids, and Planning for Healthy Babies enrollees starting in 2017.  CareSource is a non-profit organization, and most notably for pharmacists, it covers medication therapy management for all of its beneficiaries.

“Pharmacists are probably the health care professional that our members see the most,” said Jim Gartner, the company’s vice president of pharmacy and medical management. “I wanted to develop a program that reimburses pharmacists for medication counseling and management.”
